Health Services St. Joseph School has a full-time registered nurse on site each school day. Mrs. Garrett, school nurse, assists in maintaining a healthy an safe school environment for all students and staff.
St. Joseph School is constantly reviewing our policies and procedures to help keep your children and the SJS community safe and healthy. With that said, SJS is requesting that families PRE-SCREEN children prior to coming to school and please keep children home if they are not feeling well.
SJS is a NUT FREE Facility This means that your child CANNOT have any nuts in the classroom or cafeteria setting. This includes spreadable forms of nuts such as Nutella or granola bars that contain nuts. We have students at SJS who have life-threatening reactions to nuts. It is imperative that you adhere to this policy for the health and safety of these students. Please be aware if your child is sent to school with ANY nut product for lunch and/or snack they will not be allowed to eat it in the school. If you have any questions please contact us at 401-821-3450.
Medications This year St. Joseph School is asking any child that needs to have medication administered or held for an emergency at school, to provide the school appropriate documentation along with the proper forms. This includes any OVER THE COUNTER medications for chronic illness, including allergies as well as any medications your child is self carrying. Medication should be in the original package/bottle. Also. please make sure medication has not expired. For any questions or concerns, please contact Meg Garrett, RN atmgarrett@sjsww.org.
