Safe Environment

The Safe Environment Training (S.E.) at St. Joseph School consists of two components a training and criminal background check.  Both  are required by the Diocese of Providence and the USCCB.  All adults who work or volunteer with children in any capacity at SJS are required to complete Safe Environment Training once every three years.
  • The first time an adult receives this training it must be in at a live training session hosted by the school or parish. The goal of this training is to maintain a quality program that ensures the safety of all our students while they are in our collective care.   There is no cost associated with the Safe Environment requirement.
  • In addition to the three components of Safe Environment Training, a BCI check must be completed once every three years. Unless you are a regular volunteer, the cost of the BCI is $5.00. Please email Mrs. Jessica Loffler at [email protected] for more information about how to meet this requirement.
