Academic Support

St. Joseph School provides academic support to students in Kindergarten through grade 5 who need additional instructional support in reading and math. Support specialists consult with teachers to identify areas of need in order to supplement and enhance classroom instruction.

Academic support specialists provide immediate, ongoing feedback to classroom teachers through consultations, collaboration, the sharing of evaluation and instructional materials.

Support may be temporary to remediate a specific concept or ongoing.  It may include individual or small group instruction within or out of the classroom. Specialists collaborate with classroom teachers to carefully consider and review information available for the student and provide appropriate interventions at the student's level.
